The starters figure to get more work in the Arizona Cardinals third game of this preseason

The Arizona Cardinals will play in their third preseason game on Saturday. They’ll face the Chicago Bears in University of Phoenix Stadium. It’ll be another chance to evaluate the players as they work toward their final 53-man roster.

The starters should see a bit more time this week, likely playing through the entire first quarter. The backups will play out the remainder of the game, as they try to claim a roster spot.

It’s important to note that the starters aren’t a lock at every position. Poor performances from the presumed first team guys, or outstanding showings by the backups, could change the lineup. That’s why these games mean so much, and coaches take them seriously, even if the final score is irrelevant.

Fans will sit down and watch the game on Saturday, to enjoy their team in action, but also to see who rises and who falls. It’s an interesting process, and one that we all get to see play out. Here are five players to watch when the Cardinals and Bears meet this weekend.
