The Arizona Cardinals have completed three preseason games with two more remaining before final cuts must be made

With 90 players still on the roster, that means there are 37-players that will lose a job with the Arizona Cardinals between now and September 2nd.  There are two more games for coaches to evaluate players.

Some of the positions that looked to be interesting competitions continue to be after the three games player so far.  Starters are likely to get just one more half of playing time between now and the season opener in Detroit.

Offense:

QB: Carson Palmer, Drew Stanton, Blaine Gabbert

RB: David Johnson, Chris Johnson, Kerwynn Williams, Andre Ellington

WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Jaron Brown, John Brown, J.J. Nelson, Chad Williams, Jeremy Ross

TE: Jermaine Gresham, Troy Niklas, Ifeanyi Momah

OL: D.J. Humphries, Jared Veldheer, Mike Iupati, A.Q. Shipley, Evan Boehm, Dorian Johnson, Will Holden, Cole Toner

The Cardinals at this point look more likely to keep three quarterbacks than just two.  Stanton and Gabbert look even in their competition.

One looks good one week but then the next the other looks better.  It would be hard right now not to see the Cardinals keeping both of them.

As for receiver, that’s a tougher question.  Arians wasn’t happy with them this past week.  Their performance on Saturday night probably didn’t change his mind much.

That last spot there likely is between Jeremy Ross and Brittan Golden.  Golden looked pretty good the first two games but Ross did step it up against the Chicago Bears.

The offensive line was not very good on Saturday night against the Bears.  However, there is a pretty good drop off between who you see and don’t see here.

The Cardinals look to be set a running back and I would not be surprised to see one more tight end on this roster.  That will likely come down to special teams play.
