The Arizona Cardinals are now in the final week of preseason with still some questions left answered

Everyone’s job is still up for grabs, at least if you believe every word Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians has said.  Don’t believe it.

The Cardinals do however still have a few questions to be answered before final roster decisions are made by next Saturday.  Not many starters will play, if any, this Thursday night against the Denver Broncos.

So what questions do we still have?  We know a couple of things have been resolved, that’s for sure.

Backup quarterback: Drew Stanton won that job, although we still don’t know if the Cardinals will keep a third quarterback in Blaine Gabbert?  All signs seem to point to yes.

Starting cornerback: Justin Bethel has won the starting job opposite Patrick Peterson.  Brandon Williams had his moments.  Tramon Williams just wasn’t here long enough.  Do they keep Tramon Williams?

Punter: Earlier today we talked about this position.  Matt Wile could be in trouble but this year’s punter may not even currently be on the roster.  As of right now, the free agent market for punters isn’t too good.  Wait for other teams cuts to see what’s out there.

Tight end: Will the Cardinals keep three or four of them?  A couple of guys are practice squad eligible but will there be room for one of them on the Cardinals practice squad?

Backup running backs: The Cardinals could have two of them make the practice squad, James Summers and Elijhaa Penny.  Both have had nice moments.

Defensive tackle: There are 11 on the roster right now.  Will they keep eight or nine?  Last season they had two or three on the inactive list every week.

Offensive line: Who will be the backups?  Starters and backups have been inconsistent this preseason. Cole Toner has had some difficulty.  His job is probably safe for now given the landscape of the roster right now.
