The Arizona Cardinals looked sloppy most of the day in Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Lions

If there is one thing the Arizona Cardinals can do to put week one behind them it is to have a short memory.  After what I’m sure was an ugly video session on Monday, now they can take their day off Tuesday and come to work Wednesday ready to prepare for the Indianapolis Colts.

Judging by some comments on Twitter, the sky is already falling.  You won’t hear that from anyone with the team.

Injuries happen, even to big stars like David Johnson.  Turnovers happen but the good ones learn from their mistakes and move on.

The Cardinals defense played well for three quarters on Sunday.  Hopefully they quickly forget their fourth quarter against the Lions.

They have to forget.  Don’t let it linger.  Despite the poor performances, despite the injuries, the Cardinals are still a good team.

With fans, it’s a little harder to let go.  Understandably they are upset but as pointed out after the game on Sunday, you can’t give up yet.  The Cardinals won’t.

Seriously, there a lot more where these came from.  The season is not lost.  There are 15 games that have to be decided on the field, not on paper, not on projection.

The Colts are reeling from a 46-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Quarterback Andrew Luck was ruled out on Monday for this Sunday’s game in Indianapolis.  Nothing makes one forget about a loss like a victory the following week, no matter who against.

There are a lot of things to work on and hopefully those things were identified on Monday in the video room.  You can’t immediately fix the loss of David Johnson but you can put a band aid on it for the next two months.  They have capable backs already on the roster.

The Cardinals signed running back D.J. Foster off of the New England Patriots practice squad on Monday with anticipation of losing Johnson. Look for Kerwynn Williams to start on Sunday.
