The Bad

Making mistakes

For as much euphoria there is over the win, there is a lot to talk about the Cardinals needing to work on.  Penalties and turnovers almost cost them a win on Sunday.

The game started with a good offensive drive.  Palmer moved the ball and got them down to the 49ers four-yard-line.

However Palmer had a third and four pass intercepted in the end zone and that was that.  There was also a penalty after a first and goal at the 49ers five that moved them backwards.

A holding penalty on receiver Jaron Brown sent the Cardinals back to the 15.  They ended up with a third and goal from the 12.

A beautiful catch by Andre Ellington in the end zone looked like a touchdown.  It was not.  The Cardinals settled for a field goal. That in itself is another story.

The fact is though if red zone mistakes aren’t made, this game never reaches the overtime period. Let’s hope they live and learn.
