Arizona Cardinals vs San Francisco: Week 4 Recap
By Zackary Maus
The Arizona Cardinals defeated the San Francisco 49ers with a touchdown to Larry Fitzgerald with 32 seconds left on the clock in overtime
Now through four weeks the Arizona Cardinals have played in two overtime games. This divisional showdown was an incredibly low scoring defensive battle in Glendale. Whether it was dropped passes or big sacks, neither the Cardinals or 49ers could do anything offensively.
Offense:
The Arizona Cardinals struggled here again in week 4. All things considered, Carson Palmer had a very nice game with 357 yards passing, one touchdown and a pick.
Despite Palmer’s hefty numbers, he was sacked six times. Furthermore, we accomplished nothing on the ground again. Chris Johnson and Andre Ellington combined for a total of 50 yards rushing on 18 attempts.
Accordingly Jaron Brown had a nice game with eight receptions for 108 receiving yards. Andre Ellington led the team in receptions with nine for 86 yards receiving as well. Finally of course the game winning touchdown came from none other than Larry Fitzgerald himself.
Defense:
The Cardinals defense played relatively well when it counted. Tyrann Mathieu seemed to be everywhere with 1 QB sack and 12 total tackles. Accordingly, Tyvon Branch played well with 2 QB hits and 9 total tackles. Overall the secondary played well despite some controversial penalty calls.
Furthermore, Deone Bucannon made his season debut but only snagged a single tackle by the end of regulation. Antoine Bethea made the only interception for the Cardinals and also had a tackle as well.

Recap:
All things considered, the Cardinals won the football game. When it’s all said and done, that’s all that matters.
They definitely need to do something about our poor O line performance. Palmer has been hit 40+ times through just four weeks of the season. That won’t do. Palmer has shown what he can do when he has time in the pocket, lets see if Keim will help him out.
