Can’t start any worse

The first loss to the Detroit Lions wasn’t a sealed deal until the fourth quarter.  The Cardinals lead for the first three quarters until the defense got tired.

The loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football was a case of poor offensive line play and not making proper tackles, poor technique.  The game got away from them.

Then there was the loss to the Eagles on Sunday.  The Cardinals were never in it.  They allowed two third and 11 conversions.  They gave up a third and 19.  They almost gave up a third and 17.

Down 21-0 in the first, it was over.  All three phases of the game failed them.  They did calm down a bit and held it to a 13-7 game the rest of the way.  In fact the Cardinals left at least 10-14 points out there after the first quarter.

Coach Bruce Arians blamed himself for not having the team ready.  How often has that happened? Almost never.  As bad it is seemed on Sunday in Philadelphia, it really can’t get much worse than that.  That could be the wake up the Cardinals needed.
