Arizona Cardinals: Peterson creates first day stir
By Scott Allen
Most of the talk Wednesday around the Arizona Cardinals centered around their newest acquisition, running back Adrian Peterson
The newest member of the Arizona Cardinals arrived on Wednesday. Running back Adrian Peterson met the media and attended his first practice with the team.
Peterson seemed genuinely happy to be in Arizona. He said he never asked for a trade but also said he felt uncomfortable with his situation with the New Orleans Saints.
He said that his prayers were answered by being moved by the Saints. He comes to a team that had a chance to draft him 10 years ago. Now we will get to see what he looks like in a Cardinals uniform.
There have only been small rumblings of his trouble he faced in the past with his incident involving his child. Media kept it mostly about football on Wednesday.
Peterson did divulge though that he is staying at Larry Fitzgerald’s guest house. Fitz was pretty darn excited on Monday morning when the trade came down. He took to Twitter.
Needless to say, the players are excited to have him here. It did come at a cost. The team had to release Chris Johnson. It is unfortunate that it came down to his release but the Cardinals are trying to do everything they can at this point.

Peterson alluded to not finding out about the trade from the Saints before it was announced publicly. It would seem his situation was volatile in New Orleans.
Coach Bruce Arians said Peterson will play on Sunday but not on third downs. Look for Kerwynn Williams to possibly get the bulk of carries in third down running situations against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
As for the rest of the team on Wednesday, 12 players for the Cardinals were limited. The only one who was listed as not practicing was defensive tackle Olsen Pierre.
