The Arizona Cardinals beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38-33 in Glendale week 6.

There’s a lot that can be said about the Arizona Cardinals this week and defeat isn’t one of them. They soundly got themselves a week 6 victory by putting up 24 points in just the first half against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite such a strong start to the game, the Cardinals barely hung on to a victory as Tampa Bay scored 33 points, 27 of them in the fourth quarter

Offense:

The Cardinals offense looked unbelievable in the first half of this game. Though they did slow down in the second half, it was still a strong showing. Impressively, Carson Palmer was 18-22, 283 yards and three touchdowns. He also had a forced ball that was picked off as well. The run game was relevant in this game which explained the early dominance.

Adrian Peterson rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns. That’s absolutely unheard of from our previous rushing attack. Through the air, Larry Fitzgerald had a field day with 10 receptions, 138 yards and a touchdown. John Brown had another touchdown today for his second straight game with 63 yards and 3 receptions to pair with it.

Defense:

The Cardinals defense, like the offense, started off very strong and then fizzled out as the game went on. It’s unacceptable to give up 33 points in the second half of a game. They did play well in the first half by shutting out the Bucs.

Of course, Deone Bucannon lead the team with eight total tackles. Tyvon Branch was second with six total tackles. The defense had two interceptions today from both Tramon Williams and Antoine Bethea. Chandler Jones also did his part with an impressive day having a couple tackles for loss and a QB sack.

Recap:

Like I said at the start of this article, a lot can be said about this Cardinals team. Some things big, some things small. Furthermore, I have no doubt that many individual’s biggest takeaway from Sunday was Adrian Peterson.  He still has it.

Many were counting him out as washed up.. I think he made those people look silly today. Hats off to Steve Keim and Bruce Arians to go after him.
