The Ugly

Rushing attack

Or should we say lack thereof?  Adrian Peterson was a no-show on Sunday.  It wasn’t all his fault.  He carried the ball 11 times for just 21-yards, a far cry from last week.

However the Cardinals abandoned the running game early, when they didn’t necessarily need to.  The Cardinals ran the ball 12 times.  That’s it, 12.  Just wow.

Penalties

The Cardinals had 10 of them for 65-yards on Sunday.  Many were just mental mistakes.  There are no excuses.

Opponent third-down conversions

What has been an issue most of the season was no different on Sunday.  The Rams converted 13-19 third downs on Sunday.

What that did was extend drives and ultimately was a big reason why the Cardinals were only able to run 47 plays in all.  The Rams ran 78 plays.  The Rams won the time of possession 39:01 to 20:59 and it didn’t even seem to be that close.
