Arizona Cardinals: NFC West roundup
By Scott Allen
The Arizona Cardinals were on their bye week in week eight but there were a couple of other NFC West foes in action
The bye came at a good time for the Arizona Cardinals. They had a chance to take a Sunday off while a couple of other divisional foes had games to play on Sunday.
While the Los Angeles Rams also had their bye week, the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks both were in action. The 49ers game ended in a predictable result.
As for the Seahawks, they were embroiled in a battle with the Houston Texans all afternoon on Sunday. Both teams were on fire early in the game, leading to a 21-21 tie at halftime.
The second half got a little crazy. The two teams traded scores almost the entire half. The Seahawks ended up getting the best of the Texans 41-38. Cornerback Richard Sherman had his first two interceptions of the 2017 season.

Deshaun Watson certainly exposed the Seahawks secondary at times. He threw for four touchdowns in addition to the three picks. Watson torched the Seahawks for 402-yards in the air.
The 49ers on the other hand, played the Philadelphia Eagles tough in the first half. However the Eagles proved to be their tough selves and ran away 33-10.
So after week eight, that leaves the Cardinals two games behind both the Rams and the Seahawks. They can’t afford any more hiccups, although certainly some people have already written them off.
Without Carson Palmer on November 9th, it may still prove difficult for Drew Stanton to find deep plays. Don’t look for many repeat performances from the Seahawks defense playing a backup quarterback.
For now, the Cardinals will worry about facing a still winless 49ers team next Sunday. The 49ers are 0-8 but they’ve had shots at winning some games, including against the Rams and Cardinals.
