Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim admitted they are making calls to other teams
Exactly what the Arizona Cardinals are in the market for specifically is not known. However Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim admitted to Arizona Sports 98.7 on Tuesday the team is active in trade talks.
Nothing has been completed but they are talking. Are they calling for a quarterback? His comments about the team’s preference of drafting a quarterback rather than trading for one suggest that may not be where they are looking.
The NFL trade deadline is at 1:00 p.m. Arizona time today. The Cardinals got a huge pickup at running back in Adrian Peterson two weeks ago.
Are the Cardinals looking for receiver help? Maybe adding on the offensive line? Are any pass rushers available? The Cardinals have seemed to struggle in that area since losing linebacker Markus Golden four weeks ago.
At this point with just a couple of hours remaining until the deadline comes and goes, don’t expect the Cardinals to make any further splashes. If they do, it would be a huge surprise.

Other divisional teams have made huge trades over the last 24 hours. The Seattle Seahawks added tackle Duane Brown from the Houston Texans Monday afternoon.
The San Francisco 49ers also made a huge trade on Monday, obtaining quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo from the New England Patriots. The 49ers got a second round pick in 2018 for the 26-year old quarterback.
We will wait and see what happens. A lot of fans of course would like to see someone else starting at quarterback the rest of the season instead of Drew Stanton.
However the Cardinals also have Blaine Gabbert and the team has been reluctant to play him because he is still picking up the offense. So you wonder what a new quarterback coming into Arizona would do for them?
With both sides of the ball needing some sort of help, don’t put it past the Cardinals to make a move but also don’t expect it. There are a lot of moving parts to a trade.
