There is no question now is the time for the Arizona Cardinals to prepare to select their future quarterback

Some thought the time was two years ago.  Some thought it was this past April in the 2017 NFL Draft.  The Arizona Cardinals did not draft their future at quarterback either time.

Now they are faced with needing to do so.  They need to do so no matter if Carson Palmer decides to come back one more season or not.  Palmer has already been acknowledged as a mentor on the sidelines after his injury.

The quarterback class in 2018 is not super deep but there are some that could fit what the Arizona Cardinals are trying to do.  However the fit may differ come draft time depending on the status of head coach Bruce Arians next season.

The Cardinals may take a look at Blaine Gabbert as their future and may get that first look as soon as next week with Drew Stanton injured.  However if they decide to move past Gabbert, then the future quarterback needs to be drafted in 2018.

These five quarterbacks are listed based on the offense the Cardinals run now.  It’s all we know.  Anything we do know now could change over the next two months with these quarterbacks as they finish out their season and play in bowl games.

There is also no indication the Cardinals have any interest in any of these five players.  They won’t publicly say anything.  Privately they are scouting but plenty of football still ahead until someone is selected.
