Arizona Cardinals: 5 quarterbacks team could draft
By Scott Allen
Sam Darnold
Cardinals fans should be more familiar with Darnold. With him being with USC in the Pac-12, he gets more air time in Arizona and the west coast.
He knows how to air it out, which fits what Arizona does. He’s nowhere near as mobile as Jackson. He does have 24 touchdown passes against 11 interceptions for 3,198-yards on the season.
The knock on Darnold has been the interceptions. Then again, that should be nothing new to Cardinals fans. It’s just the Cardinals have been doing it with older quarterbacks.
Darnold seems to be getting stronger as the season wears on. He’s learning from mistakes. He will go through some growing pains in the NFL as well but he would be a nice fit in a Cardinals uniform.
How he performs down the stretch and in the big bowl game USC is expected to go to could go a long way in just how high he goes. There is always the chance he will be available when the Cardinals select but a lot of time between now and then for things to change.
