The Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans announced their inactive players for Sunday’s game in Houston

Another week, another inactive status for Arizona Cardinals running back Andre Ellington.  He was one of seven players listed as inactive for the Cardinals on Sunday against the Houston Texans.

Also missing for the Cardinals on Sunday is defensive tackle Corey Peters.  Peters has been playing very well as of late.  He has 17 tackles along with one pass defensed and one sack so far in 2017.

Also inactive for the Cardinals on Sunday is the newest quarterback signed to the roster in Matt Barkley.  That means Drew Stanton is active as the backup to Blaine Gabbert.

Receiver Chad Williams, safety Harlan Miller, linebacker Bryson Albright, and offensive lineman Max Tuerk round out the Cardinals inactive list.  Miller was recently promoted from the practice squad.

As for the Texans their biggest absence on Sunday will be receiver Will Fuller IV.  He has been a huge weapon for the Houston offense so far in 2017.

Linebacker Dylan Cole, running back Alfred Blue, center Greg Mancz, tackle Julien Davenport, nose tackle Chunky Clements, and third quarterback Josh Johnson.  T.J. Yates will be the backup quarterback to Tom Savage on Sunday.

The interesting thing about Ellington for the Cardinals is he wasn’t on the injury report all week.  This is likely a healthy scratch.  You wonder what that means for the fifth-year back going forward.

As for Williams, this will be the eighth time in 10 games the Cardinals 2017 third-round pick has been inactive.  The good news here is that means John Brown is healthy, at least enough to play.  Brown didn’t practice on Thursday and was limited on Friday.

How much Gabbert can get him involved will remain to be seen.  Also watch out for center A.Q. Shipley and tackle John Wetzel.  They were both listed as questionable on Friday after being limited in practice.
