Arizona Cardinals lead Jacksonville Jaguars 13-3 at halftime
By Scott Allen
The Arizona Cardinals were able to move the ball early against the Jacksonville Jaguars
Here is something different for a change. The Arizona Cardinals were able to score on their first drive. That helped them to a 13-3 halftime lead.
Quarterback Blaine Gabbert got the ball moving and eventually got them into scoring position. Kicker Phil Dawson kicked a 34-yard field goal to get things started.
It was nice to see him hit an early field goal. He’s missed a couple of those this season. The score put the Cards up 3-0 after the Jacksonville Jaguars punted on their first drive.
The Jags also punted on their second drive. On the Cardinals second drive the Cardinals stalled at mid-field after Gabbert was almost picked off.
The Cardinals Andy Lee punted and pinned the Jags inside their own five. Second down started the second quarter. The Jags were able to get some breathing room on the drive.
The Cardinals defense eventually got the ball on a Chris Ivory fumble. Initially ruled down by contact, the Cardinals challenged and won.

After roughing the passer call, the Cardinals again got into scoring position. Again, all they could settle for was a Dawson field goal to give them a 6-0 lead.
The Jaguars again could nothing with the ball following the Cardinals field goal. On the Cardinals punt return after the stalled drive, Kerwynn Williams fielded the ball and ran the ball back 21-yards to put the Cardinals in Jags territory at the 40.
That punt return was the longest of the season to date for the Cardinals. It came at a great time with the Cardinals trying to add on.
Add on they did. Gabbert found tight end Ricky Seals-Jones for a 29-yard touchdown pass to put the Cardinals up 13-0. That was Seals-Jones third touchdown reception over the last game and a half.
The Jaguars were able to get the ball with two minutes left in the first half. They got into scoring position for the first time but had to settle for a Josh Lambo field goal to put them on the board.
The Cardinals held the Jaguars to 70 total yards on offense. They will get the ball to start the second half.
