Arizona Cardinals vs Jacksonville Jaguars: Good, bad, ugly
By Scott Allen
The Good
Chandler Jones
What else can you say about the man? He certainly earned his paycheck on Sunday. Everywhere you turned his name was being called when the Jacksonville Jaguars offense was on the field.
Jones had his best game of the season. He finished with two sacks, six tackles overall. Five of those tackles were for a loss.
He just missed a couple of other sacks as well. He now has 12 sacks on the season.
Ricky Seals-Jones
He did it again. He found himself open for the second week in a row. Last week he scored two touchdowns and got another one on Sunday against the Jaguars.
His touchdown on Sunday was from 29-yards out. He caught four passes for 72-yards, leading the Cardinals in both receptions and yards.
Phil Dawson
He’s been bad, he’s been ugly. Not much good this season. He was all good on Sunday, going 4-4 in field goal attempts to help the Cardinals defeat the Jaguars.
Of course the big one was the 57-yard kick that gave the Cardinals the 27-24 victory. It was a career high for Dawson. Amazing to think this was a career high after 19 seasons in the NFL.
Offensive line
There has to be some recognition for the offensive line. They held the Jaguars defensive line to just one sack.
Their sack leader, Calais Campbell, did not get a sack on Sunday, although he did scoop up a Gabbert fumble for a touchdown. However with some good blocking and Gabbert’s mobility, the Jaguars were not able to contain him very well.
