The Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans both started slow on offense

Eventually someone was going to score.  After trading punts back and forth for the first quarter plus of the first half, the Arizona Cardinals defense allowed the Tennessee Titans offense to strike first.

Halfway through the second quarter, the Titans finally were the first to find the end zone.  Titans Derrick Henry scored his fifth rushing touchdown of the season to help put the Titans up 7-0.

Meanwhile, for the most part Cardinals quarterback Blaine Gabbert looked like a hot mess.  He couldn’t find any receivers.  He looked lost at times.

Also looking lost was the Cardinals offensive line.  They gave up four sacks of Gabbert in the first 24 minutes of the half.  When he hasn’t been in trouble he’s been throwing in a hurry, supposedly because he is trying to avoid possible trouble.

Then there is the Cardinals running game, or lack thereof.  Starting running back Kerwynn Williams has just six carries for 22-yards.  That won’t cut it against the Titans.

Now the Titans haven’t been lighting the world on fire either.  They’ve been good enough though on defense to keep them in the lead for now.

A bright spot has been linebacker Chandler Jones.  He recorded his 14th sack of the season with just over two minutes left in the half, which leads the NFL.  The Cardinals though will need more than Jones.

The Cardinals got one more chance to score before halftime after stopping the Titans.  However after picking up one first down, that’s all the Cardinals could muster.

That left the Titans with 50 seconds, three timeouts, and a chance to add to their lead.  However they couldn’t not do so and lead 7-0 at halftime.

As we’ve seen all season, it is about halftime adjustments.  The Cardinals have not been good at them for the most part.  Hopefully we haven’t seen the best we will see from the Cardinals.  Otherwise they are on their way to another loss.
