Arizona Cardinals running back Adrian Peterson’s neck injury may keep him out the rest of the season
Have we seen the last of Arizona Cardinals running back Adrian Peterson in 2017? Have we seen the end of his short time as a Cardinals back?
These are big questions to be answered over the next three weeks. Peterson, who has missed the last two games, may miss more according information ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss shared.
With David Johnson returning next season will Peterson want to be his backup? It’s doubtful. There has been a lot of opinion on whether the two could co-exist on the same field.
Given the type of person Peterson is, it just isn’t likely he would want a reduced role. That being said, he knew what he was getting into.

If Peterson decides that he would be alright playing second fiddle to Johnson, then maybe he returns next season. Given the reason he is in Arizona right now in the first place, doubtful that happens.
Stranger things have happened. Somebody will offer a starting role for him, even at his age. Does he like it enough here already to consider returning?
For now, we wait and see if Peterson will be able to return for the last three games or not. If Peterson can’t go, then it will likely be Kerwynn Williams down the stretch.
Williams will be spelled by Elijhaa Penny and D.J. Foster at times. That wasn’t the three-headed running back monster Cardinals and their fans expected to see at this point of the 2017 campaign.
Either way, it was a nice story for a couple of weeks. For the record, it would be nice to see Peterson stay and get himself a number of touches each week.
