Adrian Peterson

Even before he went on injured reserve for a neck injury, it was hard to see how Peterson was going to fit on this roster in 2018.  He doesn’t want to be a backup.

Many people already had this thought when the Cardinals traded for him.  However maybe, just maybe Peterson could be convinced that he could play well and then come back being second fiddle to David Johnson.

Don’t count on it.  In fact, the odds are great Peterson has seen his last game in a Cardinals uniform.  The story was nice.  He had a couple of nice games.

The fact is being a running back is a young mans game and if he wants to continue to play in this league, it is likely as a backup.  That’s not what he’ll want to hear but it is the reality he faces.

So not only may the Cardinals be out in 2018, so may be the rest of the NFL.  We shall see what happens once spring rolls around.
