Prince Amukamara, cornerback

It’s funny to see names we were talking about last February as possible targets come up again this year.  Amukamara is one of those guys.

Some thought last year he’d be a good fit for one of the cornerback slots.  He spent the 2017 season with the Chicago Bears but finds himself a free agent once again.

There is also the added caveat of Amukamara knowing the area.  He attended Apollo High School in Glendale, Arizona where he was named Big School Player of the Year in 2006 by The Arizona Republic.

Certainly his numbers weren’t what many expected them to be last season.  He played in 14 of 17 games, starting 12 of them.  He had 45 tackles and a fumble recovery last year.  He did not get an interception.

He can still play however.  If the Cardinals were to bring him in, it could be as a backup though.
