The next step in the player evaluation process for the NFL Draft begins next week for the Arizona Cardinals and the rest of the NFL

The NFL Scouting Combine is not the end all to be all in evaluating players for the NFL Draft but a good combine for a player certainly doesn’t hurt him.  The Arizona Cardinals will get to see a lot of possible draftees during the four day event in Indianapolis.

This year’s combine, held March 2nd-5th, will again showcase different positions on different days.  It will all start with the running backs, offensive linemen, and special teams on Friday March 2nd.

The Cardinals should pay particular attention to offensive linemen and special teams on this day. The offensive line was one of the worst in the NFL in 2017.  Special teams for the most part have been anything but special for the Cardinals.

Day two is also a big day for the Cardinals.  Saturday March 3rd will showcase quarterbacks, receivers, and tight ends. This could be a huge day of evaluation as the Cardinals should be in the market for all three areas.

Day three on Sunday March 4th will showcase defensive linemen and linebackers. Not as heavy as a day it would seem for the Cardinals but still one they should pay attention to. Inside linebackers could get a good look from the team.

Day four wraps up the event with defensive backs.  The Cardinals likely will draft one or two as usual.  They do have some of their own free agents to look at as well, but expect some turnover with their defensive secondary given the current personnel and their salary situations.

Next: 5 free agents the Arizona Cardinals should sign

Many fans who love the combine will want to certainly pay attention to the NFL Network on the 3rd and watch the quarterbacks and receivers.  The Cardinals are in the market for both and it would be a huge disappointment if they didn’t draft players from both positions.
