The Arizona Cardinals not only need a quarterback but they need receivers as well

As much as we want to believe, Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald can’t do it all on his own.  He wants to but even he knows he needs help.

From the current crop of receivers the Cardinals have available, none of them have been able to step up and say they are the number two guy or number three guy.

John Brown could be leaving.  Jaron Brown could go either way.  J.J. Nelson figures to remain for now but he is not a number two or even three at this point.

So what direction do the Cardinals go in?  Look at free agency first.  There are options. Sammy Watkins seems to rank high up.  He wouldn’t be a bad option.

If he wasn’t hurt a lot Allen Robinson would get a good look as well.  His Jacksonville Jaguars teammate Marqise Lee is intriguing.  Donte Moncrief from the Indianapolis Colts deserves a look as well.  He could make a solid number three.

A darkhorse that has shown signs of potential is Taylor Gabriel from the Atlanta Falcons.  Put in the right situation he could thrive.  Is Arizona right?  Who knows right now?

As for the draft, there are a couple of tall guys that could go in the second or third round.  Equanimeous St. Brown out of Notre Dame at 6’4 would be a very nice compliment to the Cardinals offense.  Courtland Sutton at 6’4 out of SMU is also highly thought of and should go in the first or second round.

Christian Kirk out of Texas A&M is a possibility but at 5’11 may not be as desired.  It would be a nice story to see him come back to where he went to high school.

Next: Recent Arizona Cardinals draft picks should get opportunity

They will need to draft in the high rounds at receiver if that’s where they want to find their next number two or three receiver.  Drafting a guy in the sixth or seventh round is nice but that person likely won’t fit what the Cardinals need to do to fill in right behind Fitz.
