Arizona Cardinals: 5 intriguing roster additions
By Scott Allen
Alec Bloom, TE, Connecticut
Bloom’s stats at UConn weren’t mind blowing but again it isn’t always in the stats as to why a guy could be valuable to your team. The Cardinals tight end position does need depth added.
After Jermaine Gresham and Ricky Seals-Jones, there are a few guys that will fight for the third and fourth tight end positions. There has been no set number on the number of tight ends the Cardinals are going to want to keep. A lot could depend on the fullback position as well.
Bloom however stands at 6’6, 253 according to his bio on the UConn football website. He’s got the size to succeed in the NFL. He caught just five passes in 2017 but they went for 101-yards and a touchdown.
Bloom’s best year was in 2015 when he caught 22 passes for 314-yards and a touchdown. He will be fighting Gabe Holmes, Bryce Williams, and Beau Sandland for a permanent position on the team.
