The Arizona Cardinals get the week off after completing another round of OTA’s

The offseason workouts get a break this week after the Arizona Cardinals completed a round of OTA’s this past Tuesday through Thursday in Tempe.  They will get all of this week off before returning next week.

The Cardinals will have one more round of OTA’s before their mandatory mini-camp in mid-June.  The next OTA’s are scheduled from June 4th-5th, taking the 6th off, then completing them on the 7th and 8th.

The Cardinals mini-camp will take place June 12th through the 15th.  After that the team will not come together again as a full unit until the end of July for training camp out at University of Phoenix Stadium.

That mini-camp is mandatory for the full team.  It is the last chance to stay on the training camp roster.

News will be quiet for the most part.  Hopefully the team continues to find ways to improve the roster if need be during that time, particularly at receiver, tight end, and offensive line.

There are no indications the Cardinals are planning any moves but those are three positions that still need some addressing.  So, we’ll keep our eyes and ears open.

The Cardinals have avoided any major injuries so far in the OTA’s.  Not every team can make that claim.  There is no good time to lose players to injury, however in offseason practice, that’s tough.

The Cardinals as we all know were just obliterated the last couple of seasons, 2017 in particular, with injuries.  They piled up players on Injured Reserve like Larry Fitzgerald piles up receptions.

It’s all knock on wood though.  They still must get through the four days of OTA’s and three days of minicamp, so easier said than done.

You just want to be able to say the Cardinals are healthy heading into training camp.  That’s all you can ask for.  Injuries will and are going to happen.  It’s how you react and who you get to replace that makes all the difference.
