The Arizona Cardinals got themselves a veteran free agent receiver this week

The OTA’s and mini camp may be over for the Arizona Cardinals, however their work never ends preparing for the 2018 season.  They added a much needed veteran at receiver this week in Greg Little.

Little, who last played for the Cincinnati Bengals, was not a guy necessarily on the radar but still a good addition to the roster.  The Cardinals waived receiver Cobi Hamilton to make room.

Little started his career with the Cleveland Browns.  Most fans know him from his days there.  He had brief stints with the Oakland Raiders after Cleveland and the Buffalo Bills after the Bengals.

He has 161 career receptions with 1,890-yards receiving and eight touchdowns.  Little last registered a catch however in 2014.  He was active for six games in 2015 with the Bengals but did not make a single catch.

He was on the Bills training camp roster but since being cut at the end of camp that year, he has been a free agent.  It will be interesting to see what a guy out of football for almost two years will be able to do.

The Cardinals must believe in him somewhat to give him a shot.  It was enough to cut Hamilton right as mini camp was ending.

Little’s best season came in his rookie year in Cleveland when he caught 61 passes for 721-yards and two touchdowns.  He will be in a full room of receivers trying to make this team.

With the Cardinals more focused on a run game this year, they may not carry the usual six or seven receivers, especially since running back David Johnson can fill the role of receiver as well.

Next: The player the Arizona Cardinals no longer need

Little though hopefully can make the most of his shot.  The Cardinals have little to lose here as they continue to try to improve a unit that is widely not thought highly of.
