We’ve finally reached the month where the Arizona Cardinals will join together to get ready for the 2018 season

Happy July to all Arizona Cardinals fans!  Although we still have just under four weeks until the team officially reports to training camp, we have left the last month without any football.

The Cardinals report to training camp on July 27th.  Their first practice will be July 28th at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.  It will be their sixth-consecutive camp in Glendale since moving the camp back down from Flagstaff.

There will be a new head coach in Steve Wilks.  There will be a new starting quarterback in Sam Bradford.  There will be a new franchise quarterback waiting in the wings in Josh Rosen.

There will also be a potential new star receiver in Christian Kirk.  There will still also though be the possibility of their star running back in David Johnson continuing his holdout.  There is no new news there unfortunately.

NFL sack leader from 2017, Chandler Jones, returns.  He moves from linebacker to defensive end.  Also hoping to return in full by the time the regular season starts is defensive lineman Markus Golden.

Golden tore his ACL last October.  Although there is still no exact timetable for his return, all signs point to possibly returning some point in training camp if not by the time the season starts on September 9th.

There are some changes to training camp this year.  It won’t be as long as it was last year.  The Cardinals also open on the very last day since they are the last to start preseason games.

Next: The Arizona Cardinal that got away

One of those changes you may notice when you go out to the stadium to watch practice is the street signs on Bethany Home Road from 91st to 99th avenues, which encompasses the length of the stadium property, won’t say Bethany Home.  The road has been renamed by the City of Glendale to Cardinals Way.
