We’ve made it to the final weekend without Arizona Cardinals football in 2018

It’s hard to believe it was almost seven months ago the Arizona Cardinals walked off winners against the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle on New Years Eve.  It would be the last game of the Bruce Arians era.

It was also the last game of the Cardinals as we knew them.  Fast forward those seven months and here we are in a new era, the Steve Wilks and Sam Bradford era.

The Wilks era will likely last much longer in Arizona than Bradford’s will with rookie quarterback Josh Rosen waiting in the wings.  It could also be the last hurrah for guys like receiver Larry Fitzgerald, kicker Phil Dawson, safety Antoine Bethea.

Now we’ve made it to the last weekend without any kind of football from the Cardinals.  Training camp opens on Friday.  The Cardinals will be on the practice field next Saturday at University of Phoenix Stadium.

They will hopefully be playing all the way through January into the first Sunday in February but that’s a long time off.  At the very least the Cardinals will be in our lives from next weekend until the end of December.

At times it seems like the last Cardinals football was a long long time ago.  A changing of the guard at coach and nearly half a roster change will do that to you.

There are so many different opinions on how this year’s edition of the Cardinals will perform, they should keep us on our feet everyday.  I wouldn’t want it any other way.

There are some known’s but many unknown’s with this new group coming in.  That makes it exciting, intriguing, and something we should look forward to for the next five months.

Next: Arizona Cardinals making news for the wrong reasons

Sure, it was fun when we knew the Cardinals were winning all the time and we knew they were expected to win.  Many of us believe this group can win together but the big question is can they?  Get ready for a sometimes bumpy but always fun ride.
