Special teams (3)

K: Phil Dawson

P: Andy Lee

LS: Aaron Brewer

Dawson will likely win the kicking position for the Cardinals.  He’s been named as a captain of the team.

Matt McCrane could still surprise over the last two weeks.  The original thought was Dawson would be pushed by him.  Dawson did miss a field goal against the Saints, so don’t shut the door on that competition just yet.

As for Lee, he has no competition in camp.  He is the guy and should be.  He is one of the best punters in the NFL.

As for Brewer, he is good enough to stay here.  The biggest thing is to keep him healthy.  He came in and saved this team after the long snapper debacle of a couple of seasons ago.

Next. Do the Arizona Cardinals have a kicking controversy?. dark

Dawson and Lee have been around awhile, so if they do both play the entire season, look for a possible new duo here next season.  For now, let’s see what McCrane can do over the last two games of the preseason.
