Arizona Cardinals defense has a nice night in Dallas

It wasn’t pretty for the most part on offense for the Arizona Cardinals.  However what couldn’t be done on offense was done on defense and special teams.

The Cardinals defense and special team came up with eight Dallas Cowboys turnovers.  It lead to two defensive scores, including an interception return for touchdown for cornerback Patrick Peterson.

For the preseason now, the Cardinals have 16 takeaways.  That’s pretty darn good no matter who you are and what season it is in, preseason or otherwise.

The biggest thing from the offense Sunday night was from running back T.J. Logan.  He ran of a very nice 59-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter.  Game over.

From there it was just defense and special teams.  The quarterbacks didn’t do much.  Sam Bradford, Mike Glennon, and Chad Kanoff played.  Josh Rosen, who was a gametime decision, never entered the game.

The Cardinals quarterbacks only threw for 63-yards.  They managed only seven first downs.  They had as many takeaways (8) as first downs.

Bradford started and only played two series.  Glennon played alright, going 8-10 but it was all underneath stuff that only gained a total of 35-yards.

If the defense is able to carry at least a good portion of that to the regular season, then the regular season is going to be a lot of fun on that side of the ball.  They are absolutely all over the place on the field.

Running back D.J. Foster was hurt in the first half and was carted off.  Linebacker Cap Capi was shaken up late in the game.  Capi had a sack against the Cowboys.

Now the Cardinals have four days to prepare for the preseason finale against the Denver Broncos on Thursday night.  Saturday is cut down day to the 53-man regular season roster.  There are going to be some tough decisions to make.
