The Arizona Cardinals still have a number of jobs up for grabs as they take on the Denver Broncos in the final preseason game Thursday night

As Arizona Cardinals and NFL fans we traditionally call the fourth preseason game meaningless.  Well for a number of players, it is anything but.

The Cardinals (3-0) will take on their traditional preseason ending opponent in the Denver Broncos.  Game time is at 6:00 p.m. at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.

Normally there may be two or three spots still undecided upon for the Cardinals going into the final tune-up for the regular season.  However this year with a bunch of new faces on the team, there are multiple positions that have competition still to be decided.

While we won’t make another prediction on the final 53-man roster until after the game has concluded on Thursday it is a safe bet that a lot of those spots are going to rely on one more look before a decision is made.

The Cardinals will have until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon to assemble their initial 53-man roster for the regular season.  I say initial only because there is a good chance as teams release players there will likely be some other movement during the week next week as teams prepare for their season openers.

The Cardinals will also assemble a 10-man practice squad.  Some of those guys will come from those that don’t make the final 53-man cut but you can be assured some will also come from players released by other teams.

Both sides of the ball have decisions to still be made.  The tougher decisions could come down to the guys that can also play special teams.  A guy that is alright at his position but a necessity on special teams could beat out a good very good at said position.
