The Arizona Cardinals ultimately kept five receivers on the roster, including two rookies

The receiver room for the Arizona Cardinals was always going to be an interesting room to watch since the day the season ended last December.  We just didn’t know what it would look like come September.

Now we know.  It is made up of a 15-year veteran, a third-year player, a second-year player who played very sparingly in 2017, and two rookies. In other words, outside of Larry Fitzgerald, very young and inexperienced.

That’s what happens though when you can’t find decent veterans to fill the void left by previous failures.  Brice Butler and Greg Little should have been good enough to make the team.  Yet, they weren’t.

They were beaten out by guys who are faster and ultimately can catch a ball more consistently.  At least that’s what the preseason seemed to prove.

Outside of Fitz, many fans see the Cardinals receiving group not nearly matching up to most other teams.  There is definitely talent there however.  Don’t close your eyes on this group.

This group has speed and best of all, most of them have good hands.  There is one we still need to see improvement from in that department but we will get into that more.
