The Arizona Cardinals released their first injury report of the week ahead of their matchup on Sunday against the Washington Redskins

It could have looked a lot worse than it ended up being for the Arizona Cardinals.  However, upon release of their injury report on Wednesday, they only had one of their listed players not practicing.

That player is defensive end Markus Golden.  He was removed from the PUP list over the weekend and placed on the 53-man roster.

Do not be surprised to see him sitting inactive when Sunday rolls around however.  On Wednesday, coach Steve Wilks said that he would likely not play if he doesn’t practice on Thursday.

Wilks has a rule that if a player is not practicing by Thursday, then it would be hard to be playing on Sunday.  A guy must be able to prepare for his opponent.

Sometimes in the past coach Bruce Arians would wait until Friday before making a decision but this seems like the prudent thing to do, especially for a guy that missed all of training camp and preseason.  There is no need to rush him at this time.

Other players ending up on the first injury report were five that were limited.  Those players include tight end Jermaine Gresham who is also coming off the PUP.  The jury is still out on him for Sunday as well.

Running back T.J. Logan, defensive tackles Robert Nkemdiche, Corey Peters, and Olsen Pierre were also limited.  Both Nkemdiche and Peters have been hurting for a couple of weeks.

Offensive lineman, rookie Korey Cunningham, has a thumb issue but was listed as a full participant in practice.  As for the Redskins, they listed just three on their injury report on Wednesday.

Of those three, only one was a non-participant at practice, receiver Maurice Harris. Linebacker Zach Brown and quarterback Colt McCoy were both full participants in practice on Wednesday.  We shall see what Thursday brings.
