The Arizona Cardinals were back on the practice field on Wednesday afternoon in Tempe

The injury report for Wednesday for the Arizona Cardinals had a couple of surprises on it.  They are preparing for their week two game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Running back David Johnson was limited due to a back injury.  This was not an injury we previously knew about.

Also limited was safety Budda Baker.  He has an ankle injury he is nursing according to the injury report.

Others limited due to injury were defensive end Markus Golden, who returned to practice, tight end Jermaine Gresham, and defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche.  Nkemdiche played decent against the Washington Redskins last Sunday.

Two other starters were limited on Wednesday but were not injury related.  Quarterback Sam Bradford and receiver Larry Fitzgerald sat out part of practice.

Two Cardinals players did not practice on Wednesday.  They included defensive tackle Olsen Pierre and offensive lineman Andre Smith.  Pierre was limited last week and Smith injured his elbow in last Sunday’s game.

Offensive lineman Korey Cunningham and running back T.J. Logan were listed on the injury report but participated fully in Wednesday’s practice.  Both were inactive against the Redskins.

As for the Rams on Wednesday, they listed three players on their injury report.  They listed linebacker Mark Barron, receiver Michael Thomas, and running back Todd Gurley as non participants in practice.  Don’t get hopes up on Gurley missing the game though, he was listed as not-injury related.

Golden and Gresham are both still working their way back from their injuries in 2017.  Both were inactive last week but there is a chance that both could be active this week.

Golden has been out since tearing his ACL early in October last season in week four.  Gresham tore his Achilles late in the season of 2017.  For them to be at this spot where they may actually get a chance to play in week two is amazing.
