Not much change in the Arizona Cardinals injury report on Thursday after practice

There wasn’t much change in the injury report for the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday from what we saw on Wednesday.  There was at least one exception.

Receiver Larry Fitzgerald returned to practice on Thursday but was listed as a limited participant. Fitz did not practice on Wednesday.

Fitz has been nursing a minor hamstring issue since last Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. He caught three passes for 28-yards against the Rams in the Cardinals 34-0 loss.  He was pulled from the game early.

On Wednesday, coach Steve Wilks indicated Fitz was going to be alright to play on Sunday.  Thursday seemed to prove Fitz’s progression towards that point.

Fitz has caught 10 passes so far in the first two games.  He has yet to reach the end zone however and right now the Cardinals need him more than ever as they struggle on offense.

The number two receiver Christian Kirk did not practice as a precaution on Thursday due to a minor back injury related to a Wednesday car accident after practice.  He will likely practice on Friday.

Quarterback Sam Bradford, limited on Wednesday but listed due to a non-injury, was back on the practice field on Thursday as a full participant.  Linebacker Dennis Gardeck and defensive tackle Olsen Pierre were both listed as the other two non-participants in Thursday’s practice.

If Gardeck or Pierre are both listed as non-participants in Friday’s practice, they likely would miss Sunday’s game in Glendale.  Pierre has yet to play this season.

There were four limited participant’s in Thursday’s practice in Tempe.  They included defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche, safety Rudy Ford, guard Mike Iupati, and offensive lineman Andre Smith.

Once again, the Chicago Bears only listed one player on their injury report. Defensive back DeAndre Houston-Carson was limited for the second day in a row.
