The Arizona Cardinals inactives on Sunday include two top defensive linemen

One of the unexpected bright spots so far on the Arizona Cardinals defensive line this season is going to miss the game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday afternoon.  Nose tackle Robert Nkemdiche will sit out the NFC West matchup.

It shouldn’t be a surprise given he was on the injury report all week.  However it is a blow to both him and the defensive line.

Also missed on the defensive line on Sunday will be defensive end Markus Golden.  It was hoped he could go on Sunday, however he too has been placed on the inactive list for the matchup against the 49ers.

The backup quarterback for the Cardinals will again be Mike Glennon.  That is because Sam Bradford is inactive for the second week in a row.  His days have to be numbered as a Cardinals quarterback.

Running back/kick returner T.J. Logan is also out for Sunday’s game.  That hurts depth behind David Johnson and Chase Edmunds, however with Johnson getting more touches last week and likely on Sunday, it shouldn’t hurt too much.

The other three inactives are offensive linemen Jeremy Vujnovich, Korey Cunningham, and Blaine Clausell.  No huge surprises there.

As for the 49ers, they will be without two of their receivers.  Marquise Goodwin and Dante Pettis will miss Sunday’s game.  Goodwin has played well against the Cardinals in the past.

Guard Joshua Garnett and tackle Shon Coleman are out on the 49ers offensive line.  Defensive back Jimmy Ward, defensive tackles Jullian Taylor and D.J. Jones are also out Sunday.

This means the Cardinals will have receiver Larry Fitzgerald active on Sunday.  He’s been fighting a bad back and hamstring.  It was questionable during the week as to whether he’d play or not on Sunday.

For the 49ers, running back Matt Breida has been questionable as well.  He has been a nice surprise for them and will play against the Cardinals.
