A question and answer session with the site expert Adam Carlson of The Viking Age, FanSided’s Minnesota Vikings fan site, ahead of this Sunday’s matchup with the Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals head north to face the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday.  Not many give tyhe Cardinals any chance.

I spoke with Adam Carlson of The Viking Age this week to get his thoughts on the upcoming intra-conference game.  As expected, he likes the Vikings to take it to the Cardinals.

The Vikings have a high talent pool on both sides of the ball and on the sidelines with their coaching staff.  We asked him five questions.

I covered topics from Mike Zimmer to Kirk Cousins and some in between.  They have high expectations of this team.

Sure the Vikings have struggled but their struggles don’t match what the Cardinals have gone through early in the season.  The Vikings are still ranging anywhere from a 10-11 point favorite in Sunday’s game.

I wouldn’t expect a let down like three weeks ago like they had at home against the Buffalo Bills but it didn’t stop me from asking him about that game.  It may be the only thing the Cardinals fans can hang their hats on as far as chances to win go. e should like the Vikings, despite some of their early season struggles.

RZ: We saw Buffalo torch the Vikings three weeks ago, is there any chance they relapse like that again to give the Cardinals any chance?

TVA: I’d like to think that game was a complete fluke. With the Vikings looking ahead to a short week against the Rams and everything happening with Everson Griffen, Minnesota was likely to struggle during the game with their head in the wrong place for many reasons.

Still, that doesn’t mean that another epic collapse is impossible. I was surprised to see it happen at U.S. Bank Stadium to a struggling team like the Bills, but overlooking a team, even the Cardinals, would be a massive mistake for a team looking to be above .500 for the first time since Week 1.

RZ:  Can Kirk Cousins lead this team to a Super Bowl?

TVA: So far, Cousins is proving to be worth the money the Vikings have paid. Flourishing with a struggling offensive line and no running game of any kind, the new quarterback in Minnesota has kept pace with high octane offenses like the Rams and Eagles by executing quick, accurate passes and nailing deep throws.

Kirk Cousins is a quarterback the Vikings can win a Super Bowl with, but the team needs to add to their talent on the offensive line and prove to be more consistent on defense if they want to return to the NFC Championship game this year and maybe even get to the big game.
