The Arizona Cardinals are already heavy underdogs to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday

They don’t need any further help creating doubters on Sunday as the Arizona Cardinals are preparing for their visit to Minneapolis to play the Minnesota Vikings.  Most sports books have the Cardinals as 10-11 point underdogs.

A fully healthy Cardinals team would have trouble this Sunday.  However, this team is anything but close to healthy.

One of the biggest concerns is the offensive line.  They are already playing subpar as it is.  The last thing they need is more injury.

However as of right now, it is not looking for offensive linemen Mike Iupati, and Andre Smith.  Neither one of them have practiced this week, listed as did not practice for both Wednesday and Thursday.  Also, tackle D.J. Humphries was limited on Thursday.

Nine other Cardinals were listed as limited on Thursday.  They include receiver Larry Fitzgerald, safety Tre Boston, tight end Jermaine Gresham, and defensive end Markus Golden.

Golden and Gresham will likely be up and down with their returns from major injury in 2017.  Golden was inactive last Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Nose tackle Robert Nkemdiche returned to practice for the first time since being inactive for last Sunday’s game.  He did not practice on Wednesday but was limited Thursday.

Given his history, I would not expect Nkemdiche to improve much over the next few days.  Not having him is certainly disappointing, something we used to not be able to say about him.

Other defenders to watch status on is linebacker Josh Bynes and safety Budda Baker.  They are two of the guys the Cardinals really need on the defensive side of the ball on Sunday if they are to have any shot to beating the Vikings.

Next. Arizona Cardinals trade rumors a bit alarming. dark

We’ll see what Friday brings but at this rate, it isn’t looking good.  Even if some of these guys can end up going on Sunday, just how effective will they be?  It could be a beat down of epic proportions.
