Arizona Cardinals safety Tre Boston is getting himself noticed by making plays on the field, and being outspoken off of it

Just a few short months ago, Tre Boston felt disrespected by the Arizona Cardinals. The free agent safety was seeking what would be his third NFL home in three years, and had seemingly placed a high value on himself. Boston felt that the Cards’ offer to him was extremely unacceptable, and ultimately left town without a contract.

Not too long after their first meeting, the two sides got together again. Arizona’s second attempt at signing Boston was successful. The former Carolina Panther and Los Angeles Charger agreed to a one-year, $1.5 million deal, and he’s been garnering attention ever since.

Adjusting to life in the desert has not been easy for Boston. The former fourth-round draft pick of the Panthers did not find it comforting when he discovered a scorpion in his new home. The 100-degree, nighttime temperature also freaked out the Fort Myers, Florida native.

On the field, Boston’s over-the-top celebrating of plays that he’s expected to make is a bit annoying. Especially considering the fact that some of the choreographed demonstrations have occurred while the Cardinals were having their lunches handed to them. Boston and cornerback Patrick Peterson acted like clowns following an interception in week two, foolishly ignoring the fact that they were trailing the Los Angeles Rams by an insurmountable 19 points at the time.

Despite his antics, Boston’s production on the gridiron is undeniable. The 26-year old has racked up 36 tackles, two interceptions and six passes defensed through the first five games of the current campaign. The 6’1, 205 pounder has apparently picked up from where he left off last year, when he tallied 79 tackles, five picks and eight pass breakups for the Chargers.

In just a short period of time, Boston has made an impact with the organization. Whether you like him or not, there’s no denying that the guy is an interesting character. In a year as dismal as 2018 has been, the Cards can use all of the intrigue that they can get.
