The Arizona Cardinals are looking for their second win of the season on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers

New offensive coordinator but the same personnel will take the field for the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.  Byron Leftwich has been in the spotlight this week as he prepares for his first game since taking over for the fired Mike McCouy.

So which players do we figure will play prominently into the offense on Sunday?  We are liable to see a lot of the same issues since Steve Wilks is still the head coach and the same players are still here.  Yet, will we see something new?

Some players could have huge days on Sunday.  Look for these three to possibly have their best games so far this season.

David Johnson

Johnson has not had the season most expected him to have so far.  Not only has he not had the carries and the yards expected, he’s also not been a huge part of the passing game.

It is that versatility that has been lacking from his game so far this season.  Whether that is his fault or through fault of the offensive line or the play calling, the fact is whatever has happened previously, it has not worked.

Johnson’s five touchdowns on the ground and just one through the air are well behind the pace he put up in 2016 when he had 20 rushing and four receiving touchdowns.  Maybe the year away due to injury played into it a bit but I’m not buying that as an excuse.

Look for Johnson to be heavily involved on Sunday.  He shouldn’t be the only one with an increased presence on the field though.
