The Arizona Cardinals injury troubles continue as they prepare for the NFC West Champions

If anyone had any illusions about the Arizona Cardinals performing much better the second go around against the Los Angeles Rams, go ahead and dodge them.  The Cardinals face yet another week of preparation with a long list of injuries.

On Thursday the Cardinals had eight players who were either limited or did not practice.  Those not practicing were defensive end Markus Golden, tight end Ricky Seals-Jones, and receiver J.J. Nelson.

If none of them can go in practice on Friday, look for them to miss the game on Sunday afternoon at State Farm Stadium.  Of the three, Golden will certainly be missed the most.

Golden hasn’t had quite the bounce back season many expected after tearing his ACL 14 months ago against the San Francisco 49ers. He has just 2.5 sacks so far in 2018.

Seals-Jones and Nelson have been disappointments, especially Seals-Jones.  After showing some great promise in 2017, he’s provided little spark this season.  Nelson could be playing his last home game as a Cardinal on Sunday.

Others that were limited in practice on Thursday include safety Budda Baker, cornerback David Amerson, and receivers Trent Sherfield and Chad Williams.  Williams has missed the last couple of games.

It may be a good idea to shut Williams down all together.  At this point, what else could he do to change the way he’s being evaluated going into the offseason.  If the Cardinals don’t know what Williams has to offer by now, it may be time to move on.

As for the Rams, they only had three players listed on their injury report on Thursday. Running backs Todd Gurley and Justin Davis both missed practice.  Linebacker Samson Ebukam was listed on the report but was a full participant at practice.

It has been reported that Gurley likely will give it a go on Sunday.  Just how much we shall see.  The game might be out of hand by the time halftime arrives.
