The Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams announced their inactive players for Sunday’s game at State Farm Stadium

There is good news and bad news for the Arizona Cardinals as they play their final home game of the season at home on Sunday.  They host the Los Angeles Rams at 2:05 p.m. Arizona time.

The bad news first.  The Cardinals will be without defensive end Markus Golden.  He is one of seven inactive Cardinals on Sunday.

Other inactive players include receiver J.J. Nelson.  Has he played his last home game as a Cardinal?  We shall see.

The cornerback position seems to be light without Deatrick Nichols and Chris Jones on Sunday.  Patrick Peterson did not practice on Friday due to an illness.  He is active despite being questionable on the injury report.

What’s another Sunday without a couple of offensive linemen out of the game either?  Seems par for the course for the Cardinals offensive line this season.  They will be without Rees Odhiambo and Zack Golditch.  The other inactive is tight end Darrell Daniels.

The good news for the Cardinals comes at the expense of the Rams.  They are going to be without running back Todd Gurley on Sunday.

All week leading up till this afternoon we were told he would be a gametime decision.  Jay Glazer on NFL Fox Sports on Sunday morning had indicated Gurley was doing well on Saturday.

With the Rams wrapping up the NFC West already, it makes sense to sit him, despite still fighting for a top seed and despite the struggles the Rams have had over the last two weeks in consecutive losses.

Arizona Cardinals coach Wilks could be near end. dark. Next

As for the Cardinals, Golden never got back to what he was prior to his ACL injury in 2017, so hopefully we get that back next season, more so for him than us.  Nelson’s days are numbered in Arizona though as he never got going this season continuing his struggles from last season.
