The Arizona Cardinals announced their inactives against the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field

If the Arizona Cardinals are to pull off an upset of the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon, then they will do it without one of their top defensive ends.  Markus Golden is inactive for the season finale in Seattle.

It is Golden’s second straight week being out.  The Cardinals will also be without defensive end Benson Mayowa.  He has had a decent season after coming over in free agency.

Other inactives include receiver J.J. Nelson.  We may have seen the last of Nelson in a Cardinals uniform.  It will be interesting to see if another team gives him a shot next year.

The newest Cardinals defender, safety D.J. Swearinger, just picked up on Christmas off the waiver wire, will be out as well.  He hasn’t been with the Cardinals long enough since the Redskins waived him last Monday.

Also out for the Cardinals include receiver Jalen Tolliver, offensive lineman Zack Golditch, and tight end Ricky Seals-Jones.  Seals-Jones was ruled out on Friday afternoon.

As for the Seahawks, their inactives include guard J.R. Sweezy.  He too had been ruled out on Friday for Sunday’s game.  Other inactives include cornerback Kalen Reed, running back Bo Scarbrough, defensive end Rasheem Green, defensive end Dion Jordan, linebacker Emmanual Ellerbee, and safety Tedric Thompson.

That means running back Rasheed Penny will be active for the Seahawks as they try to position themselves for the playoffs.  A loss on Sunday could send the Seahawks to face the third seed on the road as the sixth seed.  A win puts the Seahawks as the fifth seed in the playoffs heading to face the fourth seed Dallas Cowboys next week.

Some could be playing last game with Cardinals. dark. Next

As for the Cardinals, it’s just get the game over without further injury.  Hopefully a lot of the backups will get a chance to play on both sides of the ball.  That includes getting a look at quarterback Mike Glennon.
