Mike Leach

This name has been making the rounds in the local media this week.  Arizonasports.com’s Dan Bickley suggested that the Cardinals hire the Washington State head coach.  No thanks.

Since 2012 Leach has been with the Cougars in Pullman, Washington.  His team just missed out on the Pac-12 Championship Game.  He was the Pac-12 Coach of the Year in 2018 (also 2015).

He has a reputation that follows him though.  He’s quirky.  Sure, there are plenty of quirky coaches, but he takes the cake.

This is a guy who has been accused of player misconduct at Washington State and his former job at Texas Tech.  He was fired from Texas Tech eventually but the allegations at WSU were considered unfounded.

Again, this is a guy who has had quarterbacks that could sling it.  He might be able to work with Rosen.  He is just not the type of personality that the Cardinals or the NFL need right now.
