Arizona Cardinals now need coaching staff

The Arizona Cardinals hired their new head coach on Tuesday
Now that new head coach Kliff Kingsbury is in place, the Arizona Cardinals and Kingsbury need to assemble a staff of assistant coaches. There will be a lot of talk about who may join Kingsbury in the coming days.
You can likely forget former Cardinals defensive coordinator and New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles. There are rumors that he will be wanted in Tampa Bay.
Why Tampa? Well there are reports that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have offered their head coaching job to former Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians. If Arians is hired, he may bring Bowles with him.
So where do the Cardinals turn for defensive coordinator? Many Cardinals fans seem to like former Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano. Or it could be flipped, Arians takes Pagano, which would then open Bowles for Arizona.
After that, it is anyone’s guess. There is genuine concern among fans and some media just who a Kilff Kingsbury could sway into coming to Arizona.
The concern is two-fold. It is concern because defense is not his style and his teams gave up a lot of points at Texas Tech. He may need to dig deep as a first-time NFL head coach to find someone willing to come here.
This was likely one of the reasons for being the second team to hire a coach (the Green Bay Packers hired Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur on Monday evening). They need to get out in front of other teams that will be looking for the same coaches.
So after being last to field a head coach and staff last offseason, the Cardinals are among the first this time around. It doesn’t mean they got it right, only time will tell.
For now, let the speculation begin on staff. Let’s see if anyone asks Kingsbury about it in his press conference on Wednesday.
