One of the positions the Arizona Cardinals will need to upgrade at in 2019 is at wide receiver

What the Arizona Cardinals do at receiver in 2019 will be predicated on what Larry Fitzgerald decides to do.  Will he come back or retire?

If he comes back, the Cardinals are still likely to add a receiver or two.  There are a number of receivers available in free agency.  Can they be afforded will be another question.

If Fitzgerald does decide to hang it up here in the next couple of weeks, then it could be a full flip of the receiver room.  It would leave Christian Kirk as the likely number one receiver if that happens.

If Fitz returns, then it would be him and Kirk for sure.  It would leave Chad Williams, Trent Sherfield, J.J. Nelson, Pharoh Cooper, Bryant Mitchell, Malachi Dupre, and Jalen Tolliver in the room after that.

That’s not a group to write home about but they could bring back one or two of those guys.  Sherfield has shown promise and Cooper may stay because of his special teams contributions. Williams and Nelson would be the wild cards.

Assuming they keep one of two between Williams and Nelson, they’d still likely need to go after at least one receiver.  If Fitz leaves, then they lose their number one and would need to go hunting for veteran leadership.
