The Arizona Cardinals offseason checklist just got a big mark next to the determination of Larry Fitzgerald‘s future

The last three weeks for the Arizona Cardinals with the hire of a new coaching staff, which was the first order of business and now securing the return of receiver Larry Fitzgerald for 2019, now attention can be given to the next order of business.

That would be the business of evaluating college players for the draft and compiling a list of players the team wishes to target in free agency.  Thankfully we are still about six weeks away from the new league year.

So while fans of the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams get ready for the Super Bowl, Cardinals fans now have seen two big offseason checklist items completed to get ready for the 2019 season.  Of course, being in the Super Bowl is still the optimal option here but at least plans for 2019 are well under construction.

The receiver room will change but now they don’t have to worry about possibly breaking the bank and landing a top number one receiver.  They will eventually have to replace Fitz when he ultimately retires but many are hoping Christian Kirk is that guy.

They need other pieces though.  As much as we all like to see youth movements, the Cardinals should still pursue veterans to play with and behind Fitz.

The offensive line needs help and so does tight end.  On the defensive side of the ball, the interior of the defensive line, linebacker, and cornerback all need to be addressed.

Its a tall order to fill but with the number one pick in hand for the NFL draft and a little cash, it can be done.  This is likely general manager Steve Keim’s last chance to get it right.

Next. What the return of Fitz means to the Cardinals. dark

The next big event for the Cardinals, once the Super Bowl has completed, is the NFL Scouting Combine.  That will take place between February 26th and March 4th.
