The NFL Pro Bowl takes place on Sunday in Orlando Florida with the Arizona Cardinals have just one representative

The annual NFL Pro Bowl takes place on Sunday in Orlando with one lone Arizona Cardinals representative, not that many people will tell you they care.  They will spend more time complaining on social media that the game is being played, while watching the game live.

Yes, we know it is just a glorified scrimmage with half the NFC and AFC rosters with players replacing those voted in.  Still, it is one last chance to see your favorite player in action until training camps and preseason this summer.

After Sunday’s game, just the Super Bowl is left.  Then all the offseason fun truly begins in earnest.

The Cardinals lone representative is cornerback Patrick Peterson.  It is kind of amazing he is even here at this point representing the Cardinals given his mid season request to be traded.

However he stayed with the team and gave it his all as usual.  Now it appears he will be with the Cardinals for the long haul.

Peterson is here likely more on reputation and work ethic more than anything else.  His 2018 numbers weren’t mind-numbing.  He had just two interceptions this past season.

Still, he proved to be very difficult to throw on.  There were quarterbacks still afraid to throw it is way as well.  As long as he continues to put that fear into opposing quarterbacks, he is a valuable asset regardless of statistics.

It is too bad Peterson won’t be joined by punter Andy Lee.  Lee, who many Cardinals fans felt should be in this game, isn’t.  Michael Dickson from the Seattle Seahawks is the NFC punter instead.

Next. 5 moves the Cardinals can make to play in Super Bowl 54. dark

Hopefully next season the Cardinals will have more representation.  The honor is more about just that, than the game itself.  People rip the game but these players truly respect the honor they get for being selected and for some, it doesn’t hurt in the wallet either.
