Round 5, pick 1 – (129th overall) – T.J. Hockenson, TE, Iowa

There is not much known at the moment how the Cardinals will treat the tight end position in 2019.  They still have four tight ends on the roster, two of them being Ricky Seals-Jones and Jermaine Gresham.

The question is are they keeping both of them or either of them?  After those two, it’s just John Phillips and Darrell Daniels on the roster.  They will need to add.  Hockenson would be a good addition here.

In 2018, he caught 49 passes for 760-yards and six touchdowns.  He averaged 15.5 yards per catch.  That would make a great mid-range target for Rosen.

There is a good chance Hockenson goes before this selection is available but drafting a tight end in this spot should not be disappointing to Cardinals fans.  Kaden Smith out of Stanford would also be a good choice here if the Cardinals decision is to find a tight end later in the draft.
