Round 6, pick 1 – (161st overall) – Jamel Dean, CB, Auburn

The never-ending saga of trying to find the next starting cornerback opposite of Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson.  Finding a starter out of the gate this late in the draft may prove to be difficult, but Dean would be a nice pick here.

Dean’s numbers won’t blow you away but you won’t find many that will.  While the Cardinals can’t afford another project at cornerback, if they’ve grabbed one in free agency, they can afford to take a chance on someone like Dean.

Dean had just 30 tackles last season, one sack and two interceptions.  His interceptions came in huge games against the Washington Huskies and Georgia Bulldogs.

Coming up big in big games is what any fan wants to see.  He may not end up being the answer opposite Peterson in the end but his experience with a good team like Auburn and his 6’2 size can give the Cardinals something to hang their hat on.
